About Winters & Banks

Winters & Banks has represented injured California workers since 1989. Our practice is one principle, applied stubbornly: workers deserve direct access to their attorney.

Our Firm

Winters & Banks has been fighting for injured California workers since 1989. For nearly four decades, we have built our practice around one principle: injured workers deserve direct access to an experienced attorney — not a case manager, not a paralegal, not a phone tree.

We are based in Santa Ana and serve clients throughout Orange County and the greater Southern California region. Our practice is focused exclusively on workers' compensation, which means every member of our team lives and breathes California workers' comp law.

What Sets Us Apart

Workers' compensation cases are won and lost in the details — the MPN rules, the QME process, the utilization review timelines. Insurers know these details. Their lawyers know them. You deserve an attorney who knows them, too.

When you call Winters & Banks, you speak with an attorney. When you have a question about your case, an attorney answers it. That commitment to direct representation has been our standard since 1989.

When you call Winters & Banks, you talk to me. Not a paralegal. Not a case manager. That commitment to direct representation is the firm.

Our Mission

We exist to make California's workers' compensation system answer to the people it was built to protect. That means three commitments: first, every client speaks directly with an attorney from the first call to the final resolution; second, we do not settle a case until the medical record is complete and future medical needs are honestly accounted for; third, we represent injured workers in English and Spanish, in a region where the second language is not optional. Anything else is administrative cover — not representation.

Why I Do This Work

I'm a veteran attorney with over 30 years of legal experience, and I fight for my clients. I care deeply about every case I take on, and as a boutique firm we deliver first-class service from the first phone call to the final resolution. The injured workers I represent aren't case numbers — they're people whose families depend on benefits being paid on time and disputes being decided fairly.

I was admitted to the California Bar in 1995, and since 2011 I have focused my practice exclusively on workers' compensation. That focus is intentional: California's system is dense, constantly evolving, and heavily shaped by insurer playbooks that most workers — and many general-practice attorneys — never see from the inside. Concentrating on this one area is what lets me recognize those moves at every stage and counter them on behalf of the people I represent. Winters & Banks itself has been representing injured California workers since 1989.

My Practice Focus

I handle workers' compensation claims exclusively. My cases typically involve:

  • Serious orthopedic injuries (back, spine, knee, shoulder)
  • Cumulative trauma and repetitive stress injuries
  • Denied or delayed claims
  • Permanent disability disputes
  • QME and AME process disputes
  • Retaliation and wrongful termination related to filing a claim (Labor Code §132a)

Whatever the injury, the goal is the same: maximum benefits, full medical care, and a result that lets you move forward.

Credentials

I'm an active member of the California Applicants' Attorneys Association (CAAA) and the Orange County Bar Association.

Community Involvement

Based in Orange County, I serve injured workers across Anaheim, Santa Ana, Garden Grove, and the surrounding cities — in English and Spanish. When you call our firm, you reach me directly, not an intake mill.
